On Sunday, February 9th, 2020, the Stonington High School French Honors Society held a bake sale outside McQuade’s Marketplace to raise money for HELO Haiti, an organization that supports orphaned and abandoned Haitian children.

Although the weather was chilly, spirits were high as the students knew the money was going to a good place. All the products sold at the bake sale were homemade by FHS members, and all proceeds from the sale went to support the organization HELO Haiti.

This is not the first time that FHS has teamed up with HELO Haiti. Previous car washes and bake sales have also benefitted the organization, and throughout the year, members of FHS write letters to the children at the orphanage home. The French Honors Society thinks that HELO is a great cause to support, and they do everything they can to constantly give more.

Overall, the bake sale was a success. Many good Samaritans were driven to make donations out of the kindness of their hearts, and many expressed interest in the FHS program and SHS.

Be sure to keep an eye out for future French Honors Society fundraisers!
