Story by Nicole Haberek, Staff Writer and Editor

Starting the fall semester of 2020, Connecticut, through a program called PACT, will offer free community college to Connecticut residents regardless of financial ability. You will need to complete the FAFSA by July 15, 2020, to be eligible for the PACT program.

PACT stands for the Pledge to Advance Connecticut and it is a community college system that is going to be accessible and inclusive to all students. PACT was created to advance college education in the state. PACT wants to maintain its competitive edge and hold high standards in college education.

To qualify for this program you have to be a high school graduate, be attending college for the first time, fill out the FAFSA and accept all awards, attend community college full-time, and remain in good academic standing once enrolled.
