Wellness Week, a school-wide event highlighting mental health issues and well-being, is currently underway.

On Monday, students were shown a video as an introduction to the week. Tuesday and Wednesday will be extended homebases with guest speakers in the commons and auditorium. On Thursday, there will be therapy dogs in the library during homebase and a pottery workshop after school, which is a sign-up only event. On Friday, students will wear green for mental health awareness. Horses from “Horses Healing Humans” will be in the upper parking lot during both lunch waves, and a yoga class will be held in the gym during homebase.

This new event week is being put on by Student Government, which is aiming to create more awareness about mental health issues in the school. On Friday, a Google Form will be sent to students asking what they thought of the week. This week is a great opportunity to receive education on a topic that is not often talked about.
