Track Athletes Getting Ready for ECCs

On Saturday, February 1st, 2020 Track and Field Eastern Connecticut Championships (ECCs) will be held at the United States Coast Guard Academy. The bus will leave at 8 a.m. and the first event will start at 10 a.m.

Athletes will have to meet the minimum time, distance, and height in their event to qualify for the meet.

For boys runners, the following times are the qualifying times for each distance. The 55 meter is 7.34, the 300 meter is 43.74, the 600 meter is 1:39.24, the 1000 meter is 3:00.24, the 1600 meter (1 mile) is 5:10.24, the 3200 meter (2 mile) is 11:00.24, and lastly the 55-meter hurdles is 9.74.

For boys field events, the following distances/heights are the qualifying distances/heights for each event. Long jump is 17 ft, high jump is 5 ft 2 inches, with a starting height of 5 ft, pole vault is 8 ft 6 inches, with a starting height of 7 ft 6 inches, and shot put is 35 ft.

For girls runners the following times are the qualifying times for each distance. The 55 meter is 8.34, the 300 meter is 50.24, the 600 meter is 1:54.24, the 1000 meter is 3:40.24, the 1600 meter (1 mile)  is 6:00.24, the 3200 meter (2 mile) is 13:00.24, and lastly the 55-meter hurdles is 11.24.

For girls field events the following distances/heights are the qualifying distances/heights for each event. Long jump is 13 ft 6 inches, high jump is 4 ft  2 inches, with a starting height of 4 ft, pole vault is 6 ft 6 inches, with a starting height of 6 ft, and shot put is 24 ft.
