Stonington Crew Finished Strong in Regatta at the Mystic Seaport

On Sunday, May 5, The Stonington Boys and Girls Crew teams took on a regatta on the Mystic River at the Mystic Seaport. The top two boys varsity boats won their races.

The boy’s V1 boat finished in first with a time of 4:41.8. On the boat was Nick Rofrano, Christian Donovan, Zach Pasquin, Chad Obrey, Erik Laskey, Tyler Stafford, Ian Thornell, and coxswain Aidan Rath.

The boy’s V2 boat also finished in first with a time of 5:05.1. This boat included Antonio Reale, Cooper Olson, Christian deCastro, Jack Ryan, Anthony Pont, Adam Rajab, Tyler DaCosta, Jack Stajduhar and coxswain Mateo Olmedo.

The boy’s V3 boat did not race.

The girl’s V1 boat was third in their race with a time of 5:16.1. On this boat was Caroline Andrews, Jill Holland, Una Schaffer, Sydney Heughins, Hope Sowle, Eleanor Gross, Lily Haghpassand, Lucy Rath and coxswain Claire Anderson.

The girl’s V2 boat was second with a time of 5:36.2. The rowers on this boat were Maggie Daley, Olivia Monte, Maura Nowak, Eileen Ackley, Lucy Chomowicz, Julia Chomowicz, Leila Robarge and Abbie Gibson, and coxswain Maria Martuscello.

The girl’s V3 boat finished in first place with a time of 5:49.7. This boat included Audrey Rose Mejza, Lauren Kehrle, Olivia Fustini, Anne Drago, Lucy Cyr, Caitlin Getlein, Kiley Getlein, Brooke Vickerman and coxswain Jordan Gincastro.

The team’s next regatta is next weekend in Middletown, Connecticut. Times are to be announced.
