As graduation day nears, I take my final steps through your nostalgic halls. I say my “goodbyes” and “see you laters”. And I look back on the past four years of joy and dismay you have brought me. It seems like just yesterday I roamed your dull halls as a freshman searching for my classes. With you, I have grown and matured as an individual. Though I didn’t enjoy every lingering moment in your rooms, I have created unforgettable memories as well as friends that will last me a lifetime.
To the staff. Though I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting you all I have watched each and everyone of you light the school up with your wise words and influence your students. With high school being such an important and large part of kids lives, you have poured your heart and soul into their education and have continued forming students into wonderful, successful adults.
For those of you who have had me as a student, I can say with pure surety that you have helped me become the person I am today. Through these short four years you’ve watched me change as a student and have shown me nothing but love and support. You have taught me not just the curriculum but valuable life lessons that I will carry with me through life and for that I cannot thank you enough.
To next year’s students. I can’t say I know all of you but as I walk the halls and see your familiar faces I know that each and everyone of you will go onto do great things. High school can be a rough period of time as it was for me. However time truly does fly and the moment you are living in now is temporary and will pass. But live high school for yourself and ignore anyone who tries to deter your success. That being said good luck and do great things.
To my graduating peers. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable four years. It’s been such an honor to learn along side and grow with you. It’s hard to think that next year I won’t be greeted on the first day by many of you but the situation is bittersweet as we are moving on from this stage of life and going to new and exciting places. So congratulations and thank you again for everything.
Stonington High School I have attended you for four years. Though they weren’t the smoothest so much has happened in these short years. As eager as I am to leave for college this year, this is the biggest milestone of my life thus far. So thank you Stonington High and goodbye.
