New Coffee Shop Coming to Mystic!

Story by Emma DeLaRosa, Staff Writer/Co-Editor

In late April, Green Marble Coffee House closed. The coffee shop on Steamboat Wharf in Mystic was loved by many and was sad to let go.

In its place, there will be a new coffee shop called Lamplighter Trading Post. It will be owned by Nicole Anderson who has been living in Mystic for two years after moving from California. She will be opening the coffee shop with her boyfriend James Maple who is a Mystic native and spent his teenage years at Green Marble.

They plan to open the coffee shop somewhere between early to mid-June and will offer outdoor seating. Before opening, they have redone the place and have repaired and sanded the floors and are getting new appliances and furniture.

The couple has big plans for Lamplighter Trading Post. They will carry teas, as Anderson owns a tea business, as well as bagels and avocado toast. In the future, they hope to have live music and art shows as well.

While Green Marble was a staple in the community, it is exciting to see the new establishments that will make their mark.
