The annual Back to School Night took place last Thursday, which gave parents the opportunity to meet their child’s teachers and learn about their classes.

The event began at 6:30, with an announcement from principal Mr. Friese. Parents then followed their student’s odd and even day schedule, with classes lasting fifteen minutes each. Teachers talked to parents about course content, grading, expectations, and other aspects about their courses. In the commons, there was also a bake sale to benefit the Class of 2020 Safe Grad Party, which was successful. Student government representatives served as guides, showing new parents where classrooms were located.

Back to School Night, always held during the first week of school, has been a staple of SHS for many years. It is a great opportunity for parents to form relationships with their child’s teachers, and to get an idea of what their student is learning during the school day.
