Tuesday, April 30, the Interact Club hosted the Empty Bowls fundraiser.

At the event, the guests paid 10 dollars for admission, and all proceeds went to local food banks. Upon arrival, each guest had the option to pick a bowl made by those who participated in the pottery workshops and fill their bowl with soup. In the end, the club raised nearly $1,200.

Along with the variety of soup donated from local restaurants, they served bread and refreshments. A representative from the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center talked to the audience about where the proceeds go and how the fundraiser greatly benefitted the center.

The event was a great success overall, with local entertainment Miner Pentway. The band is made up of students from our very own school including Kyle Remmert, Tyler Stafford, Andrew Connelly, and Jake O’Keefe.

The Interact Club put a lot of effort into the event, making it a big hit. Also, support local entertainment by checking out Miner Pentway’s new album on SoundCloud.
