On December 13, 2019, the film “Bombshell,” directed by Jay Roach, was released in theaters and grossed over $31 million in the United States. The star-studded cast included Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Margot Robbie as the leads and included John Lithgow, Connie Britton, and Allison Janey as some of the supporting roles.

The film followed hardworking news anchors for Fox News, Megyn Kelly, Gretchen Carlson, and Kayla Pospisil, and their experiences being sexually harassed by their boss, Roger Ailes. After Carlson is fired, she sues Ailes for his sexual harassment of her and other women on the show and the policies he puts in place, like the requirement of short dresses to be worn on women.

The film was based on a true story about the Fox News network and addressed the important issue of sexual harassment that still continues to be a worldwide problem today. Every day more and more women are coming forward to share their stories regarding sexual harassment and this film was created to highlight the problems and why they need to be ended immediately.
